Default New to this site!

A buddy on Buddy slim website blogged about this website and said it was great so I decided to join and check it out!
So about me: My highest weight was 312 and when I really started trying to lose weight I was 280. I joined Curves and used Sparkpeople.com to track my calories. I also started walking away the pounds with Leslie Sansone. Since then I have tried other types of exercises like yoga (which I don't really like...) but Pilates (which I do like!) and even walking outside, Tae Bo and kick boxing. I try to do different things so I don't get bored!
Well this month after a year with Curves I quit. I was bored with the workout and I don't think it was giving me results. I had a pair of 5 pound dumbbells and started doing the 30 day shred. I am starting the 3rd level this week! I am not sure what other things I am going to do for strength training, but it will be nice to be able to create new routines that challenge my mind and body so I avoid boredom.
At the moment, I am about 188 (I keep fluctuating!) and I sort of plateaued I believe. But that is ok. I want to focus on having better body composition by building lean muscle while losing fat. My BMI says I am overweight however I can wear a size Large or Junior XL. But because I have never been a healthy weight in my adult life, I am not sure of what weight I should be exactly. But when I began my goal weight was 150 so I am going to try to get there!
hmmm other things about me, I have hypothyroid.

Or at least I thought I was until I tried to register and found out that I was already registered. Oh well, must've been one of the moments when I had good intentions but never followed through.

Today ... I am in my 6th month of a healthy new lifestyle and down 46 lbs. And have exhausted everyone I know talking about this. So looking for a new forum to talk to.

Doing it the old fashioned ... and really slow ... way. Watching what I eat, moving a little more than before. Losing about a lb a week is all.

But in the big scheme of things 46 lbs. translates to 184 sticks of butter so I guess that's a pretty darn good loss so far!

Look forward to making new friends!
