Default I sold my soul to McDonald's. Here to reclaim it!

Hey everyone. I am new here. My name is Marni, I am 22. I haven't had much dieting experience -- if at all, since my entire life I have been of normal or even under weight. I went from being an active late teen, to a very sedentary over-worked college student. I put on weight. Even more weight packed on when I moved in with my boyfriend. All the going out for dinner and basically every other meal made it hard to maintain weight. Now, at around 200 lbs, I am tired of it. I have been "dieting" for the past 6+ months with no change. I have decided to "fix" my metabolism for around 2 months, and then eat at a deficit. The goal is to maintain around 2400 calories a day, working out 1 hr, 5 days a week. If I can do that, I will be where I need to be. Thus far, I have lost no weight doing low cal 1200-1300 cals, mid-cal 1400-1500, or higher cal 1500-1800. I have put myself in a position where my body has shut down. I went from eating 1 meal a day, sometimes nothing...to eating all the time, very high cal stuff. I want to improve my life, and start where I need to start. I am determined to live a healthier, fuller life.

Hi Marni and Welcome!

There was a time when I would only eat fast food. It was quick, easy and cheap. But once I decided I wanted to be as healthy as possible, I gave it up.

Good Luck, and remember you can do it!

Good luck! Though I think your goal of 120 might be a little too low? Unless you model or something lol. I bet you'd still look amazing at like 135.

Just wanted to say hi, and I understand what you're going through =D

I started college at around 200, and after moving in with my bf and all the stress involved with school....plus a severe addiction to mcdonalds chicken nuggets, i hit about 245.

Just know you're not alone out there. This forum seems like a great place for support, and hopefully it'll be as helpful to you as it has been to me.

Good Luck!! =D

Your diet sounds ALOTTT like mine.. I live with my boyfriend and we eat out more than we cook at home. I'm trying to get better. Don't worry though, we're all here for you! Stay positive!!

Welcome chickie! We're the same age and around the same weight! Let's both stay strong and committed and we'll get there in no time!

Thank you, again! Luckily, the BF is on board for eating better, too. I'm alone in the weight loss, though. He's so skinny and...well, ANNOYING! =P
