Default New one here!~

Hi everyone!

Saw this site a few months ago, but today I decided to join. I've struggled all my life, and dealt with criticism from parents, friends, boyfriends and my husband-who is also overweight. I have a 13 month old daughter who needs me. Yesterday I made up my mind to change my life and go healthier and loose the weight, which now, is a lot, more than 100 lbs. I don't want to be skinny, I just want my outside to reflect how I feel inside..

Thanks!!

Alexa

Hi Alexa!

Making the decision to lose weight is the first step. Think of how much more you will be able to do with your daughter (I know from experience, I, too, have a 13 month old)

GOOD LUCK! You can do this!

Welcome!

We've all been where you were. I say it in past tense because you've already made the first step about getting your weight and everything else in order. Doing this for your daughter is very good but know you start by doing this for you. That way, you're here for her and all the people who are in your life.

I look forward to sharing stories with you.

Welcome. There are several groups here dedicated to us folks with lots of weight to lose. The 100 pound club is very supportive group of people.

Do you have a plan? Tell us about your first steps.

While it's nice to have support from friends, family, spouse, etc. weight loss is a pretty private and personal venture. Don't count on others to keep you motivated. If they have been critical in the past (as you have posted), it is doubtful they will magically change. You are the one holding the fork. You have 2 choices. Do It *or* dream it.

Hi, Alexa. I'm new here, too. You've come to a great place to be supported and motivated. Congratulations on taking that first step!

Thanks to all for welcome and words of encouragement! This is a very private and personal journey for me. I don't have a defined plan. I'm trying to eat healthier and exercise. Do you have any suggestions? I've been to every weight loss place or nutritionst available for the last 18 years. I think I can use than knowledge and come up with a balance..

Thanks again,

Alexa

I suggest checking out the diet central and fitness forums here, lots of great ideas in both places.

As for myself, I calorie count, eat healthy foods and for exercise, I do cardio 5-6 days a week and strength 3 days a week.

You have to find something that works for your lifestyle and that you can do for life

Good luck!

Hugs
