Default Hi, Everyone..I've lost 1oo plus pounds and now stuck. =0(

Hello everyone,

Thank you for stopping by and reading my post. I am a 26 y.o. mother who recently shed 108 pounds. =0) I tipped the scales at 345 lbs after giving birth to my daughter and truly was in denile about how much I weighed. That is until you see a picture. LoL..It definatly put it all in perspective looking at how I just let myself go.

So the question I had for myself was how to get it off. I knew I had a family history of HTN, and diabetes and after a physical with my doctor I was diagnosed with HTN.. WOW..reality set in there was no more running from the truth..I was really that fat and it was begining to take a toll on my health.

So what was my plan? I talked to my doctor about the gastric bypass surgery thinking this would be the easiest way considering I have so much weight to lose. So I got my referral and went to my first meeting for the surgery. This was scary. I learned just how extinsive the surgery was and should not be taken lightly and to top it off you had to loose 10% of your weight before the surgery could even happen plus list of other life altering things.

I went home and really had to ask myself the question are you ready to re-route your digestive track just to fight the addiction I have to food? The answer was no..Ultimatley you have to fix the problem were it starts otherwise it will just be a revolving door of weight loss and weight gain. (You can still gain the wieght back even after having the surgery) I just would be able to live with myself if I went through with such a drastic surgery and still gain the weight back due to my addiction.

What did I do? I got a gym membership and began my battle with what I put in my mouth. I started just walking on the treadmill 30 mins on my lunch break while at work. This worked, when I reached a platue after the first 40 lbs I switched to going after work so I had more time. Now we fast forward a year later and I am down 108 lbs =0)..By diet and exercise.

Now due to life changes and this recession I have been stuck at this weight for 2 months. I have began snacking due to stress from financial strains and not going to the gym for 3 weeks. I beat myself up everyday because I truly want to get off the next 65 lbs and have to get myself back into my groove again. So I ask anyone who has tips or simply would like to chat please do.

Sorry for long story =0)
Thanks

Congratulations on your accomplishment. My story was similar to yours. I had a friend that had lapband. After seeing her go through that and seeing her health deteriorate, I decided--nope, not for me.

You have come so far. You know exactly what to do. You know your body than any one ever could. When are you snacking? What are you binging on? If it takes getting rid of every single thing you binge on in your home, than do it. In other words, find your weakest link and FIX IT!

Remember that eating doesn't fix anything--it only makes it worse. Put on your old pants prior to your weightloss. Notice how they fall now? Notice how big they are!

How can you replace and fill in the times in the day you normally spend eating? Can you go for a walk? Can you go to the park? Can you clean your house? Can you surf the internet? What can you do and what do you want to do?

Hi Amy!

I just wanted to stop by to congratulate you on your 100lb. weight loss!

I have no advice for you as I'm on my way to a 100lb. weight loss as well. However, you've come to the right place to have your questions answered. There are many success stories here. You included.

Good luck with your weight loss journey.

Wow, 108lbs is amazing. I'm on my way as well. I can't imagine hitting 100lbs, can't wait! But you've had the strength to get this far, you need to refocus, get back to the basics of how bad it was to be that big, and convince yourself, a few bad months of eating and you can be on the road back to misery. Every choice counts, start by trying to get through one meal, then the day, one foot in front of the other as you did in the beginning. Treat this as your starting weight and go into it with the motivation you need to tackle that last 60lbs. You can do it, you've come to far to turn around now. Congrats and Good Luck, you will do it. Keep us posted, love to see some pictures.
