Hey there Gloria. I understand about the pregnancy gain--I delivered my last @232 pounds. Don't let the number intimidate you. You can so do this. You have already taken the first step by coming here and owning up to your intake. We are all here for you and every single one of us know the struggle. There is support here BUT ANSWERS TOO!
When I started I had 95 lbs to lose and now it's just over 70. You can do it! I had to figure out WHY I ate so much and part of it was boredom and stress- now I try to not let boredom or stress take me to the kitchen, I try to find other things to occupy my time with
You can do it! I'm new here, too, and have about 80 pounds to lose (100 if I follow the BMI charts). I think the big thing is to not look at all 120 pounds at once, that's kind of overwhelming. You can do it!
Start: 244lbs
Goal: 137lbs
I needed to lose 107 lbs (pretty close to 120lbs) -- I started, lost, regained, lost, joined 3FC and am still losing!
You can do it! You really, really can. Have a good cry over the number, and make certain that as of today, you will NEVER weigh more than this. And get a plan, log in, and get on the 3FC train.
We're here to catch you if you fall, push you forward when you need it, and celebrate your successes.
You can totally do it!!! When I started this time around (Pregnancy likes to pile it on eh?) I had 100 lbs to lose and that number just feels so daunting! Now I'm at a number where I look at it and think "Wow... I'm really getting there!" You can do this! Baby steps and small life changes and you'll be there before you know it!
I have a lot to lose as well. My goal is to eventually lose 110 lbs. I don't let myself think in terms of numbers that big though. I concentrate on mini goals so as not to discourage/overwhelm myself.
Welcome to our little home on the web! You'll find tons of support and advice here. I also welcome you to come and check out the 100lbs club for those of us that have to lose over 100 pounds
I can't tell you how much weight I needed to lose when I first started.
When I started, I just could not look at the amount of weight that I needed to lose. It was too overwhelming. I put my blinders on and started looking at 5 and 10 pounds goals. It seemed much more doable and I was encouraged by meeting those smaller goals.
Once I lost about 25 pounds, losing a 100 seemed doable. Since I lost 50 pounds, I have been considering moving my goal from losing a 100 pounds to losing 120. That is starting to seem doable. At some point in time, I may change my goal to losing even more pounds.
I want to invite you to join us in the 100 pounds forum. I look forward to your posts. You can do this!
Hi I am brand new to this website too. After viewing some of the threads here, I can see that this is an excellent inspirational website.
I have been big all my life but have reached my heaviest weight at 275pds, and to be honest I am sick of being big and feeling like I'm losing out on life. I will be 40 this year and want to live to be 90 if I can.
Just recently lost 12 pounds and all I've done is stopped over eating(started to make wiser choices of food selection) and started moving more. I walk 1/2 hour a day. When I really desire something, I will have it, but I cut back on my portion size. There are still days where I binge eat, but that's okay as long as by the end of the month I have lost at least 5 pounds. That is my goal for now 5 pounds a month.
So I say to you welcome and hopefully we can inspire one another.
good luck on your journey.

Ohhh, I get you on the pregnancy gain thing... I'm an older mom and I weighed in at 279 lbs when I delivered my second child. I know, starting at the beginning is truly a daunting task, it's a long road, but you CAN do and OMG you will feel SO much better. The way I figured it, the time is going to pass anyway, might as well use it to get healthy, right? In the process there are hundreds of things that get better and easier, number one being more energy, and boy do we need that!
