Hello everyone (well, whoever reads this). My name is Kelly and I am 34 years old and a mom to 2 very active boys. I am starting my Fat Smashing today and my first weigh in was enough to make me give up food all together. Coming from a very athletic background and having swam through most of my life (pre-motherhood that is), I was almost nauseated when I stepped on that scale and it read
197!

For a person 5' 31/2", that's not a healthy weight! I have done this before, and I lost 10lbs on Phase I. But, my love for Mountain Dew overtook my focus of losing weight and I gained it back. But TODAY.....I have started back up with a
vengence
! I am finding things throughout the year that will be my focus for goal achieving. Such as, my son's First Communion is in May. I'll be setting my goal for what weight I'd like to be at by then. I have a wedding to go to in October, I'll be setting a goal weight for that as well. The hardest part, I have found, is getting started and then keeping it "new" so to speak so that you don't feel as if it's a CHORE to eat healthy. Like everything else in life.....it should be fun!
I'm new to this support group forum stuff, but I think it might help as we are all on here for the same reason! The more support, the higher success rate! So, let's put down our ice cream cones, put away our bags of chips, and dump out that soda! Let's start getting healthy - boy do I sound cheesey! I feel as if I should be on some Sunday morning infomercial! hahahaha - anyway, good luck to everyone and I look forward to exchanging stories!
Tired of being the funny fat chick in the group!
