Default Nice to meet you all!

hello, my name is Sheri. I live in South Carolina and I am a SAHM and have returned to college to get a degree in Social Work. I gained a lot of weight in the last few years but I have always had a tendency to turn to food when stressed. Depression has also been an issue for me but I think making a concentrated effort to take better care of myself by eating right and exercising it will help along with the medication and therapy. I love the outdoors and I love to travel. I love all kinds of music and books. I look forward to making new friends here and being a source of support for others!

Thank you.

I wish you the best of luck. What strategy do you have in mind? I am leaning towards South Beach, but I am taking baby steps in the meantime, such as drinking eight glasses of water a day, getting in atleast twenty minutes of exercise a day, making sure I take my meds every day, getting in my fruits and veggies for the day, etc. Kind of like the theory that if you look after your change the dollars will look out for them selves or a journey of a thousand begins with a thousand steps and these are the beginning steps. I just do not want to lose weight, just to gain it back. I want to lose the weight, keep it off and be HEALTHY period. I am tired of food being my crutch.

Hey Sherry! We have a couple of forums you may want to investigate. The first is the 100 lb club, for those on their way to losing or who have lost 100 lbs or more. We also have forums by age range and eating plan...so find the ones that apply, settle in, and get to posting!

We also have a "Depression and Weight Loss" forum, for those who have that factor playing in...it can make things difficult.

Wherever you decide to jump in, just keep posting! Can't wait to get to know you better!
