My name is Sabrina (as some of you might have noticed from my username). Well I'm not 24 just yet, I turn 24 in March.
I wasn't planning on going on a diet or detoxing. In fact, I have made no New Year resolutions. This was sort of on a whim. I was reading one of my moms magazines and read an article about detoxing. I figured that it wouldn't be too terrible, so I decided to try it. Talked to a friend about the diet and she was really excited and wanted to try it with me. "Great!," I thought until today (Day 1 of my detox) she didn't buy a blender/juicer and she didn't seem so keen on the idea when I told her she had to drink her juice just about every 2 hours. So, it seems as I am on my own.
I heard of the 3fatchicks website a while ago but it wasn't until I ran my search for weight loss forums did I remembered. Here I am, hoping to make some friends who share the same goal as me.
I'm from Southern California in the Los Angeles/Orange County area, so if you are too - awesome! Maybe we can exercise together. If you're not and looking for a friend - awesome! We can chat via e-mail, IM or text (I have unlimited with Tmobile).
Anyways, good luck to everyone!

hey sabrina,
looks like we have similar stats. Welcome to 3fc--this is a great tool for keeping yourself on check and for learning more about weightloss, as well as for making new friends
Well, for now I'm just detoxing. I'm not sure how long I want to detox for. Initially I thought about doing detox for a month but I don't think there is anyway I could stay away from my love for solid food. lol So I'm thinking I'll try detox for 6 days. Once I'm off I'm going to try Weight Watchers. What method are you using?

Hey Sabrina!
Congrats on getting started! It took me so long to make that initial move, and that cliche saying is true...the first step is always the hardest. And like you, I was doing this with a friend, but I ended up on my own after just a few weeks. It can be really discouraging, but communities like this help so much. I can't remember how many times I've just wanted to give up, then signed on here and read for hours, reminding me of why I began in the first place.
I'm in southern Cali too, although in the high desert area, not too far away though. (I apologize to you Los Angeles people, I've almost killed about five different drivers due to my horrible maneuvering abilities.) I blame it on the economy.
Hahaha, that's my go-to excuse these days.
But Yeah! If you ever want to talk on the phone, e-mail (I'm an avid emailer), IM, even meet up, I'm totally here.
You can do this! Be encouraged, keep looking ahead to when all your hard work will have payed off.
Aw man, thanks Laura. That's rad. I actually live like 30 minutes East of LA, 20 minutes North of Orange County... so I bet I'm closer to you than you think!
Ha, don't worry about your driving skills. My boyfriend has zero to none. He's from NorCal. :P He gets all freaked when I drive in downtown LA.
But that'd be *****'n (can I say that word on here) to have a *new* friend.
sabrina,
I am on a low calorie plus exercise diet. LOl, it's not really a diet I guess. But, it's helped me lose those first 30 pounds and hopefully it will keep working.
oh, and also, I am probably the only 22 year old in Los angeles that doesn't drive! i've actually been really curious about weight watchers, but haven't taken the plunge yet.
feel free to IM me too. not sure if i am allowed to post that here, but when you get PM i'll give it to you
