Default new looking for SBD support

Hi, I went to the doctor yesterday and weighed a 199 lbs. On my 5' 7" frame I guess I need to lose at least 50 lbs. She suggested SBD she said it had worked for her. She also suggested I walk 30 minutes a day and increase it to 60 minutes over time. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I do like my fruit so the first 2 weeks will be difficult for me. I do know that I am carb sensitive and when I have pasta, bread and high sugar fruits even though it is natural sugar I tend to crave it more.

Welcome! I am pretty new to these boards as a poster (I've been a lurker on and off for a couple of years) but have been doing the SBD (for my second time) since the middle of January. There are lots of great ideas, support and recipes on these boards that will help you get started. The first two weeks can be tough, but don't be afraid to experiment with foods you've not tried before. Who knew that I'd love, love, love roasted chickpeas?!!

I am not a big fruit eater, and even now that I'm well into Phase 2, I'm struggling to get in as much fruit as I should be having, so I'm not much help with you there.

My husband has a big sweet tooth, but he is doing this with me. He's typically on the prowl for something sweet about 8PM...so we've gotten quite attached to the ricotta cremes and the baked ricotta custard.

Take it one day at a time and stay strong!

to both Jenny and Wiginn!

We have a WONDERFUL, active South Beach Diet forum here under "Diet Central"...have you seen it? SO great. So many recipes and so much advice for those in all phases. Really phenomenal support for those on the SBD plan.

Otherwise, we have groups by age range and a whole lot of small groups, clubs, challenges, and other threads to keep you motivated and keep you going.

So look around, jump in, and get right to posting. I can't wait to get to know you better!

Hi! Just remember, you are giving up fruit for a couple of weeks to make a lasting change in your life. You can do it, and this seems like a great board to keep you motivated. We are all here to help!
