Default New & Uncertain.

*BIGGGG sigh*

So I'm 21 and I have NOT weight myself in over 2 years. Nor do I want to. I just want to feel good about my body.

Growing up I was always overweight. Upon joining a sports team in school, I slimmed down and had so much fun being a healthy weight for my height (5'7). I could shop with my friends and not be embarrassed for grabbing my size jeans.

When I turned 18 and graduated high school, I went on to a community college and worked when I wasn't at school. I am horrible at working out. And I don't think I will ever have the motivation to do it. So I gained a little bit of weight. No biggie. I was still confident and happy in my body.

Then I started dating my boyfriend and got so comfortable in our relationship. I moved in with him and his friends, who would almost daily eat pizza or other take out. So I gained weight. I was working so much and so excited about our relationship that I didn't really take good care of myself and kept gaining weight.

Well in the last 2 years, his family decided to start a new business and take over a restaurant, which happens to be a pizzeria. I now work there every day, and eat there every day. I am stuck. I am not sure where to start, or how to start. I have always been a comfort eater and a bordum eater. Which is a HUGEEE problem here. Always having a slice pie sitting around, or making sandwiches for customers is virtually killing me. I don't care if I weight 130 or 200. I know that I am EXTREMELY overweight and need to change to be just in general healthy. As long as I feel confident again. So I don't have to hide behind a towel or blanket in front of him or myself.

I am not even sure how to start this and get going, all I know is I just need the motivation and support to get me through this. Any input or help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Welcome pfftyouarenuts! You've come to the best place for help to get you on your way. You actually have made the first step by joining in here with us. You need to figure out how many calories a day you need to begin this. Once you do that, I would suggest you buy a journal or just a plain old notebook would do. Then write everything DOWN that you put into your mouth. I find that writing down my intake makes me more accountable for what I am eating and helps me keep better track of it. I am currently on Weight Watchers and seem to be doing good so far, since I have been on it now for my third week. Incorporate good veggies and fruits into your diet too. I also eat PLENTY of fiber-filled foods daily which helps to keep me satisfied much longer. Taking little steps will get you started and on your way. I have worked in a restaurant setting for many years when my dad owned 2 of them and it does make it a little harder on you; but with good choices it can be done. Alot of us here set mini goals to help get us to our overall goal. That way it doesn't make the overall goal look unachievable. Read around here in all the forums and make yourself a plan. Ask questions of you need to because everyone here is more than willing to help you get started. Good luck to you and keep in touch!

Hey there pfftyouarenuts!

You may want to check out our "20-somethings" forum, for those in that age range. We have groups by amount to lose and by eating plan, too. So take some time to explore. You're sure to find one or many spots that are a perfect fit.

After that, just jump in and get to posting. Can't wait to get to know you better!
