Welcome! This site is great for motivation and accountability. Do you know what kind of plan you want to do? A specific diet, calorie counting, weight watchers? There are areas for all of them as well as an exercise forum.

Yay for getting a boob job :lol I totally want one after I am done having babies and breastfeeding. BTW I am the same height as you and we have similar goals!

Welcome to 3FC.

So when is your surgery scheduled? Or do you plan on a consultation after you lose your weight?

Just to give you an approx. time line, my sister is your height, and started out considerabley heavier than you, and has just lost 40 pounds...she has worked very hard and has stayed on her plan 99.9% of the time. It has taken her 5 months. With you being 40 pounds lighter than she is NOW, I would suspect it will take around 6 months for you to lose 40 pounds and be healthy enough for surgery. Good Luck!

ETA
(Oh BTW: She had a boob job last time she lost weight...but gained it all back plus more. Now she has really REALLY big boobs! )

If you need fast, I find that South Beach allows you to drop 6-10 lbs the 1st 2 weeks ONLY.....then loss slows. I am same height and similar weight as you. In fact, when I did SB 1 year ago, I weighed the same as you.
As far as motivation for the gym.....once you start, you love it. If you have been on an exercise regime before, you know this to be true. I injured my back 2 weeks ago and have been out of the gym, but I usually run and spin. If you can get to a spin class, I HIGHLY recommend it. It is not hard....you make it as hard as you want it to be with the resistance knob. You will melt away. I cannot wait for my back to heal. I miss spinning so much. Good luck.

Hi there and welcome! I just had a boob job on 1/22, also lost 40 pounds leading up to it. It took me from March to August to lose the weight (started in January, but didn't get serious at first). I used calorie counting and exercising like a crazy person.

(BTW, I've recommended this site to several people on a BA site in the last few days, are you one of those people? )

Yikes...I'm doing SB, and I'm on day 6. I plan to stay on SB, but your post makes me reconsider. How slow did it go after the first two weeks? and what plan are you doing that you consider to be better?

It will take about 6-8 (maybe 10-12) months to take it off and KEEP IT OFF!

Anna77- Do not change based on that information. Weight loss is, at a maximum, 1-2lbs per week (maybe even less) for a realistic long lasting change. Something like SB you will have to do for LIFE so stick with it and trust me, the end result will pay off!

(I have been doing something Zone-like for 4 years now)
