Wink Hubby is deployed, feeling like a LOSEr! =D

Hey all,

I hope this post finds you all having a great day/night. I've been a long time forum reader, and I finally decided to hop on and take an active role in this WONDERFUL website. =)

I'm trying to channel all of my negative emotions about my husband's deployment into physical activity. So far this year I've lost 12 lbs (and hopefully many more to follow).

I'm in my mid-20s, have a beautiful 4 year old daughter, and hope for another blessing in the near future. I'll be here and there. Please PM me if you're looking for an accountability buddy or just to say hello.

God bless!

Wink Make the most of it

I was a Navy wife so I know how hard the deployments can be. I was 186 lbs when he deployed and when he came back after six months I was down to 135 lbs. You can do it if you just focus.

Thanks gals for all of the warm wishes, I feel so LOVED!

Nbeth - I know there aren't any "secrets" to weightloss, but there must've been some method to losing that much in 6 months?

Quad - How much longer does your hunnie have in Iraq? I've been doing Slimfast to help me stay around 1700 cals a day, hitting the elliptical for some hardcore cardio everyday, and lifting weights when I can. What about you?

Bargoo - Thanks for the love!

Midwife- Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely hit up those subforums.

Carolina - Hope to see you around.

Ronnie - I love the scriptures. I'm always glad to run into a fellow Christian.

I have the late night munchies so I'm going to go to bed before I give in to them! =)

Hope everyone had a great "hump" day.

Welcome! My DH is in the Navy and just got back from being at sea for several months. The look on his face when he saw all the weight that I lost while he was gone was great, worth all the hard work. This forum is a great place for support!

Hello again!
He'll was just home on leave in January and will be home for good in July. yay!
I am on a 1500cal/15g fat diet. Sometimes it's not easy, but we all have to do what we need to do for our health, right? =) Right now I'm trying to at least do 4 miles a day between the treadmill and walking/slow jog with the dog. I also do taekwondo. I have been looking at getting a hip hop exercise video, but haven't found the one that is right for me.

I lost my weight by doing low carb and walking 5-6 miles per day 7 days a week on the treadmill.

I bought a Wii Fit about 2 weeks ago, and I love it! I also went out last night and got the 30 Day Shred DVD and cannot wait to try it when I get home this afternoon. I have always wanted to be able to jog, but never have really tried it. I think I may need to lose some weight first so I will be able to maintain a certain speed....I'm still learning about it actually. I envy anyone who is able to jog.

Kestrel - I bet it was a fabulous suprise! I hope my dh has a similar look.

Quad - I never thought to count g of fat, will have to start looking at that.

Nbreth- You're such a HOSS! I'm going to try to get all hardcore like you.

Carolina - Please let me know how the 30 Day shred dvd works out for you. I love Jillian's workouts & want something that'll kick my butt!

Hope you girls are having a LOVELY day.
