Default new here!

hello ya'll... im new to here, but not new to the yo yo diets.... im 41, mother of 6. youngest is 18 months so im considerably active around the house. i currently weigh 221. was 228 last week. did the richard simmons deal a meal. it works for me but i need faster results or i lose interest. ive dont the scarsdale, aitkins, and southbeach.... i had great success with the beach, went from 220 to 162 in no time, but also gained it back in no time... very very disheartening and sad. it made me feel awful and disgusted with myself. i was almost there and i blew it..... so here we are again, and really need to do it this time. i am not getting any younger, and i would like to set a good example to my kids and be alive to see them get married. not to mention be able to look in the mirror and not feel sad and sick. im going to try the scarsdale on monday to see if i can jump start this and get below 200, then follow something more reasonable. my goals are not unrealistic, i want to be 150-160. im 5'5". and at 41 i think that would be a good weight for me. my husband said to me last night "you know that theres no one out there that you have to impress" but what he doesnt understand is, i have to impress myself. im tired of looking like this and feeling like this. i want my life back and right now i dont even want to leave the house. none of my clothes fit anymore, and if they do, they are those big pj pants, and thats not attractive at all!! so im here and needing support and advice. any advice you give me will be appreciated and considered. thank you so much in advance... oh, btw my name is stacy lol... thanks for reading.... dream

I know you don't want to hear this, but quick weight loss on a fad diet of some sort or another tends to come back. I have been down this road many times. (Atkins, weight watchers, phentermine, etc.) I've gained weight back each time because or pregnancy, depression, or stress. This time I am trying a new approach. I am eliminating all sugar and flour from the house. (The kids have some cheats so they don't rebel.) I am learning to cook entirely different, with lots of vegetables and natural foods, and my tastes are changing. The drawback is that it can be a slower loss, but I feel it is going to be more permanent. Not to mention the health benefits to my children drastically reducing their sugar intake.

Good luck in your journey!

maybe i worded that wrong lol... i dont want a "quick fix" so to speak... but i want to see results... i dont want to eat one hotdog and wake up the next morning gaining 2 pounds.. it just doesnt seem fair... im not whining ya'll just frustrated.... i decided last night laying in bed that deal a meal isnt for me this time.. too easy to cheat.... so starting monday im goin back on the southbeach way of life.... its limiting and thats what i need... no sugar, flour ect and we get to iintroduce healthy sugars back into you safely.... it worked for me before so im going to give it another go.... this means no more french vanilla coffees from tim hortens but nothing tastes as good as being thin feels.... so im drinking my coffees over the weekend, and then starting monday no more.... i will take all the advice ya'll can dish out lol... i got brand new jeans that need some attention lol... right now they wont even go past my knees.... so heres to getting into those jeans! cheers! salute! lol

Hi Stacy from another Stacy!

Spelled the same and also a 67' born and 41! Mother of 1 and she keeps me quite busy!

New to the site as well, just kind of feeling my way around. Looking for others for support as well. Everyone here seems to be in the same boat and willing to support and give advice. We are lucky to have a place to come to, I stumbled on this site by accident, but think maybe it was more fate instead. Good luck, and keep us posted!!

Welcome to 3FC, Stacy! Surf around and settle in. We have subforums based on age, eating plan, exercise and more. I'm glad you're here! Check out our South Beach subforum.

Hotdogs can have quite a bit of sodium so if you eat one and the scale bounces up, it is not reflecting fat necessarily. My advice would be small changes you can stick with the rest of your life. The scale may go down consistently, but it probably won't and that is normal. Patience is the name of the game.

Hi David, men are welcome too!
