I joined january 2nd 2009, and got myself super motivated from all the support and information this forum has to provide. Including starting a 30 day "Shred" excercise video.
Unfortunately on Jan. 5th, my mother suffered a massive heartattack at age 67. She was pulseless for 10-15 minutes until paramedics revived her although completely on lifesupport and unconscious. She remained that way for a week, while many Dr's at the ICU rain various tests to see if she was going to make any headway in coming back to us. But after a long analysis with a neurologist and several EEG's and CT scans it was determined that she would never wake up. The resipirator was turned off just after midnight on the 13th of January and she past within minutes following that.
So I have been dealing with my mothers death over the past few weeks and trying to decide if getting back to my old way of life and trying to lose the rest of my 40lbs is what I should be doing at this point so soon after her passing. And I think what my mother would want would be for me to get as healthy as I can so I have the best chance at a long life with my kids. I have already lost close 56lbs through basic diet and exercise.
So here I am reintroducing myself to you guys, and I am hoping with lots of support from everyone and all the inspiration everyone provides here that I can reach my goals. I am looking to step things up a notch and focus on healthier eating habits.
I am so sorry for your loss. That must have been so difficult to go through. You are being so incredibly brave right now! You are so right when you say that your mom would absolutely want to make sure you were as healthy as possible for the rest of your family, I think you are making her super proud right now . Your attitude is absolutely inspirational. I know you'll find tons of support here for both those last 40 pounds and this trying time in your life.
