New to this site

  • Hi, my name is Renee and I am new to this website. Someone posted a comment on facebook and mentioned this site for support, and let me tell u I need support right now. I have been going to a weight clinic since mid November and I started off doing really good. I was losing weight at a nice steady pace until about 3 weeks ago. That is when I started gaining weight. I was down 17 pounds and now I have put 3 of those back on. I did have a 'normal' meal friday night, but that was the only time. Temptation has been extremely hard to fight this past week as well. I am trying a few things to kick myself into weight loss again. I am useing the flavored spelnda only (no cream) w/ my coffee, drinking nothing but herbal tea (not regular), and I am useing this salad dressing called Walden Farms, it is for diabetics and has no calories, sugars, or fats. It is bland but it has no calories either. I am also going to work my way up to jogging, but I will start by walking again.
  • Welcome Renee
Welcome to the group Renee, I just found the site at the first of January and really loved all the support you get here. Its amazing how nice everyone is here. I was relieved to find so many women that have the same situation I have. I am back on my weight loss kick just like you, I started the first of this year, to lose weight I have put back on over the last several years. One thing I learned from previous weight loss experiences is that once you body loses a decent amount of weight, and 17 pounds is really decent, your body has to take time to adjust to the loss. They call that plateau, during this time your body adjusts and some time you have to kick start it back into the weight loss phase again. Some times that means changing your eating habits to a few less calories than your body has become accustomed to or like you said, adding your walking into the program. Good luck, I know you can do it! Huggers!
  • Welcome Renee! Look around and settle in. We have lots of subforums based on age, eating plan, exercise, etc. Have you considered the Couch to 5 K program? Lots of chicks have used that to start running.

    I'm glad you're here!
