Well, after years of putting on the weight, I've decided that it is time to STOP. I've begun a weight loss program on my own about a week and a half ago. (I've been to WW before, so I do KNOW how to do this!). I've lost 9 pounds so far, so I must be doing something right.
My name is Donna, and I live in East Tennessee. I have 2 kids, Janeen is 19 and Jonathan is 8. Jonathan is autistic, but has come so far...very social and loving now. He's been my project for the past 6 years. I started WW in 2007, only to loose my Mom, Dad and oldest brother in 6 months.
The grief loosing so many loved ones was overwhelming, so the diet was more than I could think about.
But now, after knee surgery and complications from it, I feel like if I'm to enjoy the rest of my life, the only choice I have it to just bite the bullet (and not the ice cream) and do it.
I look forward to getting to know you all, and supporting you on this journey!
I completely understand how you feel Donna...when you are grieving a loss it takes time to get to the point where you can think about anything but that loss, but there does come a day when you realize that just because the ones we love aren't here, that doesn't mean we aren't here...we still need to live our lives as God intended, and that means living it to the fullest...
I'm glad you're here! Surf around and settle in. We have lots of great forums, including the 100lb Club and the 300lb Club with so many wonderful supportive members. We also have forums subdivided by age, nutrition plan, exercise, etc.
Congrats on the 9lbs!! And it is wonderful to hear that your son is doing so well.
I'm so very sorry to hear about your family. It sounds as if you had a lot to deal with and have neglected yourself a bit, which I think you realize. Good for you for taking back control of your life, beginning with your weight!
