Smile Hi all

I wanted to introduce myself, I joined a couple days ago,
and after surfing the site I decided it'd be nice to have
some friends on this site.

A little bit about me:
- In total I've lost 60 pounds, I weigh 150 right now,
my goal is to get to 125, and my ultimate goal is 115.
- I lost the first 40 pounds the healty way... watching
what I eat...having one serving of lunch or dinner instead
of 3...
-The next 20 pounds I got frustrated and restricted the calories
I ate to 500-800 calories a day and 1000 calories on really bad
days.
-I couldn't maintain a daily intake of 500-800 calories for more than
a couple months, but well it worked and I lost 20 pounds.
-After I stopped restricting I gained 5 pounds, and I realized that I
needed to start losing weight the healthy way again, I couldn't expect
to live forever on 500-800 calories...it was impossible.
-So after all that, here I am trying to lose weight the healthy way.

Sorry about writing (typing...?) so much. Bottom line I need help
losing weight the healthy way and hopefully I can get it on here.
All of you seem like such nice people. Any tips on how I can lose the
weight I need would really really help.

Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully reply

Hi there Wanttofeelbeautiful,

I'm glad you have found us. Wow. Our stats and losses are similar. I completely understand about not being able to do 500-800 calories a day. I couldn't maintain that for certain. A friend of mine did something similar (she was probably between 4-500 calories a day) and she dropped from a 6 to a 2. It worked great until she started eating normally again--after losing some hair and her nails! She is back to a six and now trying to drop weight the correct way.

I would love to be your weight loss buddy. I need support too. When did you start your new lifestyle?

Hi there,

Thanks for replying.

-Midwife... thanks you for the welcome, I'll take a look around the site and hopefully I'll be able to find a plan that'll work for me, thank you.

-Thighs Be Gone...Thank you for the welcome as well, I'm glad I found this site as well. Hopefully we can both support each other in order to reach our goals. I started excercising 2 weeks ago, and just this week I started calorie counting... and you?

I looked around some websites and did some calculations and I figured that I need 1500-1700 calories a day to lose weight...Now before I wouldn't eat this much and I added a whole lot of veggies and fruit to my diet but as of right now I've gained 2 pounds...Do you guys think it's because my body was previously in starvation mode and thinks I'm going to keep starving it, so it's storing the food? Will it take a little while for my body to figure out that it's not starving?

God I hope so...I really really can't take gaining anymore weight.

Thanks for all your guys' time,
...Wanttofeelbeautiful...

Hey there again, WTFB!

I began in early June by changing my diet--three months and -20 later, I upped my game. When the kids went back to school in August, I began exercising. I started serious calorie counting in early October. My intake is 1500 daily and I calorie cycle. Currently, I run about three miles a day and do 30 Day Shred 2-3 times a week in addition.

I think it will take some time to get your body leveled out again. I think there is a very good chance your body is holding on to food but it won't last. Don't stress too much about a couple of pounds. In the long run, you are doing yourself a huge favor to do it healthily. If I were you I would focus on whole foods and high quality proteins and the healthy fats. Also, make sure your calorie journaling is SPOT ON. Measure and remeasure.

You can do this. Your goals are impressive and aggressive. For someone your height, is 115 too low though? Just asking--honestly, I don't know. I have lowered my goal a couple of times. I have trouble spots that aren't budging and all I know to do is to keep going.
