Default First time- little nervous and babbling!

Hello everyone! As a said in my title, I'm a newcomer. This is the first time doing a weight loss forum so please bear with me!
A little bit about myself: I'm 23-years-old. I live in Chicago and have a great support system here. The only problem is that I have A LOT of weight to lose and no matter how good my family and friends intentions, I just don't feel like they are able to really understand.
I've tried weight watchers before, several times actually, and have always seemed to fall back into my old habits. For me, it's really a self love thing. I'm an emotional eater (though I'd like to meet someone who isn't in some capacity!) and I'm scared of really putting everything I have into changing my lifestyle.
Anyway, I've started working out with a trainer and really watching what I eat. I feel a commitment and a hope I've never felt before... sooooo that's why I'm here!
I would love to be able to talk to people going through the same things as I. Get advice, give what advice I can and be a part of a community that really supports each other!

Hello stranger (not for long) I also have a LOT of weight to lose! I know what you mean about the feeling a commitment and hope you've never felt before, because that is what happened to me, and I too came looking for support online and found this lovely site! It's probably one of the best things that could have ever happened to me.

I will try my best to give you advice and whatnot, but I'm a beginner so I'll mostly leave the advice to the more experienced. I post on here a lot (no life) lol so I'll stick around to give you any kind of support I can. You're not in this alone!!!!

Good luck to you and don't worry about babbling at all. That's what the forum is for... chatting and support, which go hand in hand. Sounds like you have made lots of positive steps. Just jump into any thread that interests you and start chatting. What are your goals?

Welcome! I am right there with you. I have great support at home but just feel I need others who understand. I just joined here myself not to long ago and just love it. I find myself going through the goal pictures everyday!! They sure keep me excited!! Hopefully I can post one myself there someday Good Luck to you and hope to get to know you better

Thanks walking2lose!

My goals are very simple right now-- I really just want to be healthier and happier. I don't have a concrete weight that I want to get to yet; partly because it all seems a little overwhelming thinking that far in the future and also because I'm not sure exactly what my goal should be!
I don't know if that is a good frame of mind but it's all I've got right now!

We have a 20-something forum that is very lively, as well as a busy exercise forum. That is a great you are working with a trainer! Stick around and post often. This is a great place to be!
