Howdy from Texas!

Howdy! How are y'all doing today! I'm CookieQueen, a 20 year old student at a large southern university. I began my weight loss journey around this time last year, and did very well untill school got in my way. I was derailed, but not defeated. I am certain that 2009 will be the year that I perfect my healthy self and I feel so blessed to have found such a wonderful community to help me achieve all of these goals! I don't have too much to loose at this point, and I'm more concerned with creating life long healthy exercise habits, but I have to admit I'm excited by the idea that I am really getting there!

My first goal wieght ( other than periodic mini-goals) is 140 lbs. I think at that point I will re-evaluate and see how that wieght feels on my body. If I feel like I could loose a few more, I will, but I may decide its just right :)

Well, I hope ya'll are as excited about the wonderful things we are doing for our bodies, our families, and ourselves as I am and I hope you all have an absolutely lovely day! I look forward to meeting you all <3

Hi CookieQueen!! :)

Yeah having a full-time schedule can definitely interfere with weightless goals. I'm kind of scared about that myself.

Wow you've already lost a good amount of weight. Congratulations! Not much farther to go. My starting weight is 233 and my target weight is 160/150 I don't think I want to be much thinner than that.

What diet plan have you taken up? What's your exercise routine like?

Hi CookieQueen! Welcome to 3FC! Congrats on your loss so far!

3FC has many many forums and you are welcome to check them all out. We have an active 20-something forum full of college students. I would also encourage you to check out our maintainers forum since you are already looking ahead to longterm changes (yippee! :carrot: ) . We have an exercise forum that is full of threads for almost any exercise I can think of---and we can always start another thread if something new comes along!

Sounds great midwife, I appreciate your suggestions :)

My plan is pretty much just low-cal with some treats now and again. I'm a huge fruit and vegetable eater and a flexitarian ( I prefer to refrain from meat, but slip sometimes :) ) I am not a very big exerciser right now, which is a problem. I'm hoping to use the Couch to 5k program to work up to some good habits! I'm also looking into something called 100 push ups, which works on the same principle as C25k, but with lots of sit ups being the goal.

Thanks for the support sabrinaforless! It is really tough to keep going with a full schedule, and especially in an environment with such little emphasis on long-term health. This semester I'm going to be preparing more of my meals instead of going out, which should realy help out! How tall are you, we could pretty much be twins, lol!

Thank y'all!

I just updated my profile to state my height but I'll tell you here -- 5'6". But yeah, I need to start getting into a routine. I start school on Monday and hopefully will start a job soon. I just started doing detox today and man, it's tough finding some scrumptious juice recipes. Bleh I almost yacked drinking a tomato filled drink. Ew. Twins, aye? Cool!! :)

I love juices for when I'm in a hurry. It's kind of hard sometimes to find some good flavors, but some of my favorites were actually green, lol! It sounds gross but spinach, cucumber and tomatoe is one of my favorites. I would be careful about detoxing, though. Juices are great and great for you, but make sure you are getting enough! Oh, and carrot juice! I can believe I forgot about carrot juice!

Howdy Fellow Texan

Hey CookieQueen, I am from Amarillo Texas. Great seeing you here. I am new here but have already figured out this is an amazing place with the nicest people, the support is fantastic. Good luck on your journey, it is always harder to take it off than it is to put it on. You are well on your way! Hugs!:grouphug:

Heh yeah, it's been tough so far. It's not really sticking to it (so far), it's trying to find what tastes good together. And oh my, what a mess! I hate cleaning so this is going to be tough. I planned on doing this for a month but I'm thinking that I'll try it out for 6 days instead. I've mostly been drinking veggies and I'm looking forward to fruits. Maybe I'll have to try your spinach, cucumber and tomato minus the tomato. :P
