I'm new here....40 years old with medical conditions. SLE and hypothyroidism, complete hysterectomy (no hormones) and overweight. I'm trying to figure out the safest way for me to lose weight. Any support will be greatly appreciated.

I'm glad you're thinking about safe ways to lose weight. With the SLE, you might want to touch base with your doc, but many people find success with modest calorie counting and walking. We have a calorie counting forum. Slow gradual weight loss tends to be a good way to go. 1-2 pounds a week is just about right.
no plan yet.....so unsure. I have tried soooo many different types of plans. South Beach worked, but I didn't work on it....couldn't handle no carbs. I'm thinking of weight watchers...but so unsure....any ideas?
I have learned to make healthy substitutions and have remade alot of the dishes I LOVE to make it where I can eat them!
I have tried south beach, adkins, and weight watchers.....None of them really worked and they cost me more money! I finally decided.....if I want cake I am gonna eat it....If I tell myself I CAN'T have something then it is all I think about....so I will go buy those 100 calorie pack cupcakes and eat one if I want one......with my lifestyle I don't feel deprived!
But with all that said...you gotta find what works for you!
