Ready for a "New" me

  • Hello.. I've been lurking for a few days and really like the feel of this forum.. i've been on forums before for other issues (fertility mainly) so i know how much this kind of support can help... i'm looking forward to getting to know others on this journey... i've always had a problem with weight.. even as a child.. but it really got out of hand when i hit puberty... my highest weight was 365 back in 2001 when i had gastric bypass surgery... i lost weight with it .. but gradually started putting it back on... discovered that i had PCOS and carbs are not a good thing for me (the bad ones anyway)... after a very stressful year (2008) i've decided i need a new start in the new year and here i am... i will be following the SBD as i've done it in the past... i'm hoping i've learned from my past failures and keep myself on track this time.. knowing that one bump in the road doesn't have to derail me entirely any more... so i'm looking forward to getting and giving support here
  • Hi there JennyGirl

So glad you decided to post.

You'll find a lot of support here. There's a section under Dieting with Obstacles for those with PCOS. There's a South Beach Diet area under Diet Central. There are other groups based on age, or amount needed to lose. There's a 300+ section.

Join in on some or even all of them! Post wherever you're comfortable

    Best of success!
  • Hey JennyGirl -

Yes, do check out the PCOS forum under "Dieting with Obstacles". We also have a Weight Loss Surgery forum, which might address some of the more specific challenges you face post-GB. We have groups by age range, by eating plan including South Beach, etc. Look around and explore. You're sure to find a spot or several that feel perfect in no time.

Stick around...I can't wait to get to know you better!
  • Thanks ladies... i've been lurking on the other forums that you mentioned and will be jumping in here and there...
