Hello there my name is Sylvy and I from Arkansas and I am in need of some help. My mom and my sister both had gastric bypass surgery and they are really wanting me to have it done as well but I am not so sure if that is what I am really wanting to have done. I know that I need to loose weight but just not sure if I want to be cut on. Please any help would be great. Thanks

Welcome and good luck. This is a great place to learn from others experiences, I have not had WLS but I would want to get all the information I could before making that decision. There are people on these forums who have done it and others have lost large amounts by diet and exercise. If it were me I would try diet and exercise first and if that just doesn't work I would consider WLS. I have known people who have had WLS and have gained it back. It is by no means a magic pill. I wish you luck on whatever you decide.

Hi Sylvy - have you tried to lose weight with more conventional methods already? If not - I would say try changing the way you eat and exercising first.
