Motivated, fun chicks looking to lose weight

  • Ok I am starting a bit early on the new year resolution. I was on this site a few years ago and I loved it. It really helped me lose over twenty pounds and I kept it off for years. However, because of a few life "issues" I recently put on about thirty pounds I would like to lose.

    I have a milestone birthday coming up in 2010 so I want to lose the weight and do a mini makeover on myself before then. The support and friendship I found on this site really motivated me to work hard and be accountable. I hope to find a great group to join forces in the battle of the bulge.

    i decided to get a jump start on the new year's resolution, too! why wait? also, i saw some pictures of me from my bar's holiday party and i can't deny the truth anymore.
    i am so glad i found this site! it's been hard for me to admit to myself that i really need to lose weight, and that it really matters to me. i was so intimidated by the amount of weight i need to lose, but i am humbled by the strength and courage of so many women here (and a few men!) who are losing as much and more!! i usually have a hard time asking for help, but this environment seems so supportive that i am sure you all will help keep me motivated.

    also, i really like this carrot

    today is the third day since the party, and my third day of conscious, healthy eating, walking for exercise, and NO WINE!
    i usually drink A LOT of wine. which equals A LOT of calories and A LOT of money. not to mention i just drink too much wine. when i lose 20 pounds i will take the money i've saved and buy some new bras and clothes that FIT!

  • I am excited about getting back to this site. I tried coming back in Feb. 2008 but then never followed through...life got in the way. The first time I joined in 2003 I had a wonderful support group that really helped me lose the weight.

    WE used this forum to be accountable to eachother and it worked. Every Monday we would weight in and then report how we planned to spend the following week with regards to exercise, diet and as a perk how we were going to take some "me" time.

    I am a stress eater and I found the "me" time helped instead of food I would take a bubble bath, read a book, listen to music, ect and somehow I wasn't hungry anymore. I guess I was satisfying a craving to take care of myself in another way.

    Currently, I need to lose 28 pounds. I am 5'2 and 143. At my best a few years ago I was 115 and felt very good. Every since I gained the weight I have been getting backaches. I am also turning 50 in two years so I want to lose the weight to enter another decade feeling better.

  • Today I really tried to be better about eating! I had a light breakfast and lunch and a healthy dinner of roasted chicken and veggies. The problem was all the christmas candy and cookies around the house. I usually do not buy lots of sweets because I will always eat them..but its Christmas and all my favorites are around the house.
    I live on the east coast and the weather is so cold that it is not a good time to start walking outside. I guess I need to start going to the gym again. I go to a gym that is only a few miles from my house but I am always making excuses why I can not go. I need to get into a routine.

    Maybe we can all post three things that we will do in the new year as a routine to lose weight.
