Default I'm Julie from Minnesota, and I'm a new chick!

Hello everyone. My name is Julie (or Jules), and just like the title states, I'm a newbie.

I've come across this forum by accident, and I'm glad I did. There looks like a lot of good information and I'm eager to read what's out there.

I've been dieting since the beginning of January with some slip ups here and there. I'm a calorie counter, and trying my best to exercise when I can. I'm one of those who, has the time, but makes excuses as to why I'm not actually doing it.

My life is pretty busy with work and my animals. I've got four pets living with me currently, but I'm saving my money for a deck and a fence so I can let my animals out the back door of my house. Once I have those paid for, I can invest and start fostering or adopting more animals. I currently have my dog Selby (Pembroke Welsh Corgi) and my cat Jim and my two hamsters, Elmer and Eleanor (who are brother and sister). I do not have room at my house currently for my other dog (because of the lack of fence and what not, she lives at my parents; her name is Emmie and she's a Bichon). I also have two other cats (who are outside kitties) that live there (Dot and Beacon (both of whom are sisters)).

I'm in the veterinary field (if you can't tell by my intro with all my pets!) as a certified veterinary technician. I love what I do, I've done this for many years and have wanted to be in this position ever since I was little. I'm big into rescues and fostering and support local rescues and shelters in my area. I work ten hour days, so I get a little drained come the end of the day (one of my exercise excuses!).

I'm also interested in cars, photography and scrapbooking, music and reading new books. I've also just acquired a taste for wine, and I've been researching (by taste!) new wines. If you have any suggestions for white or desert wines (sparkling are my favorite!), let me know!

I realize that I've written quite a bit here, but I'm an open book and always willing to meet new friends. I'm quite the chatterbox.

Thanks for reading -- I'll see you around the boards!

-Jules

Welcome! I've been dieting about as long as you have and I just recently started posting. I am also a calorie counter and have recently begun to scrapbook a little. (My work neighbor is a scrapbook store so I took a class. I mostly scrapbook signs for my own store.)

Anyway... good luck in your weight loss and welcome from a fellow newbie.
