Default New to the Boards...New to dieting...

Hello there everyone. I am new to this whole diet and exercise thing. I am an extremely picky eater, so I find diets very difficult. I am trying to lose 90lbs. My current weight is apx. 220 (haven't weighed myself in a while) and I have been dieting since Friday. I have started to count calories, and eating much smaller portions. I am just now starting to do a lil bit of exercising. (walking, basic at home cardio) I have 2 children ages 8 & 10. My husband is also Dieting, with prescription diet pills, counting calories and being more active as well. We have taken all Coke Products (Cola, Soda, of any type) out of the home and have been drinking soley water since Friday. Are there any tips or helpful things that someone could tell me to make this successful for us both. Being a picky eater does sometimes cause issues for diets...

Welcome to 3FC!

Why not have a family meeting around the table to discuss what foods you like, and which ones are acceptable for a healthy lifestyle? We do that a couple of times a year. One or all of you can make lists, and you can figure out some menus that'll work for everyone. It's not easy, but it is possible.

It's sounds like you're off to a good start. Keep at it with the water and exercise, etc!!
