Uk Newbie Here, Begging for help and support

  • Hello everyone,

Im currently at my heaviest weight weighing 229lbs (16stone 5lbs) its really getting me down now because the only person i have support off is my partner! Unfortunalty i don't live with him, i live with my mum and sister who constantly buy cakes, sweets etc so they are always there at my reach!

so i cant diet, i am just watching what i eat, tryin not to snack and drinking nothing but water and also walking to work and back, 20 mins each way and on the way back theres a BIG hill i have to walk up lol!

Any good advice is always welcome xxx

  • Hello and

I know what you mean about the cakes and such being around, but you know what? They're always gonna be around so we have to find ways to deal with them. Your walking sounds like a good start as well as the water.

I'm glad you've joined us and wish you every success!
  • Welcome!! I totally understand, my boyfriend always has sweets in the house. It was at least a month into my diet when I could avoid them without going nuts about it. Maybe if you talk to them enough (one talk is good, reminders better!) you can come up with some sort of compromise... so that you can have healthy food in the house for you too. Good Luck!
  • HIYA! I'm new and from the UK too! I'm currently 17.7lbs (Blush) the heaviest I've ever been. BUT I'M GOING TO GET IT OFF. Let's just take 1 day and 1lb at a time and that way it won't seem such a huge mountain to climb will it? It's not a race we'll do it at our own pace and look on it as a life style change. I know you'll do it, there's so much support on here.

One of my (grown up) sons sent me a little encouragement in the post this morning. It's a poster saying: 'Little Pickers Wear Big Knickers'... true so true! I have it up in the kitchen where I do all my picking.
