Default Gonna try again

Ok, this is my first time on a WL forum and I need all the help/support I can get.
My weight is at an all time high of 335.5 and it's time I regained control of my life and got healthy.

I have lost weight before, some 20+ years ago. I lost 80 lbs in 6 months. Boy did I look and feel good. My weight then was 175 and I did it by counting calories and walking.

My plan is to cut back and eventually start counting calories again. But most imporantly, I need to eat! That is my #1 problem, I don't eat all day, then when I get home from work (late at night) I eat dinner and go to bed. So basically my motabalizem (SP) has shut down, cause I've done it for years, least thats what the doctor said.

I have been in the 300's only in the past 7 years. I drink about 2 gallons of water a day and don't drink soda or eat sweats, or junk. Starches are my BIG problem, pasta, beans, rice, potatoes. When I have my yearly physical all my numbers are good but I am frustrated with all of this weight.

I have always been physically active, dancing, hiking, swimming, sports, etc. but I hurt my back in 4/07(work accident) which has put my physical activity on a tailspin. So I have gained 15 pounds since my accident. I decided pain or no pain I need to start moving my butt (while I wait for the doc's to decide what they are going to do) so this past Sunday 9/21/08 I started doing 30 minutes of swimming or activity. So far I have swam daily and walked once ( very painful, had to keep stopping ) for at least 30 minutes. Yea me, I have exercised and watched my food for six days

I'll be weighing myself on Monday's. My goal from 9/21 to 10/21 is 10lbs. wish me luck.

Hi Bigmomma and

I think you really should be eating three meals plus snacks everyday. Otherwise I think your body will go into starvation mode. We have lots of wonderful support, advice and ideas here. One board you may be interested in is our 300+ board. Check it and the others out and post where you feel like.

I'm glad you've joined us and wish you success!

Hi bigmomma and welcome!

You definitely have the right idea by setting small goals, and starting to move. I need to take the same advice! I had started doing very well, then fell off the wagon....gotten lazy, blaming everything but my own self, and your post has motivated me to restart. One day at a time is the only way to begin, IMO.

Not knowing what your job is, I will assume that you do have a lunch break or at least some kind of short breaks during the day. You definitely need to eat periodically throughout the day- not just at dinner! I crave the same things you do - the high carb potatoes, pasta and rice - and those things are not friends in huge quantities! Finding the balance is the key - everything in moderation.

Best of luck to you!!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I should have added that I have never told anyone my weight before, it was kind of scary. I knew I could come here and tell you and not be judged. It's not like people can't see how big I am, but there is just something about numbers that shock people. So thanks for letting me let my hair down here and expose that part of myself , you know what I mean!!!
