Default I want to be skinny!!!

Hi everyone! I'm new to this site and wanted to say hi & maybe make some "support friends". I started my diet, old fashioned calorie counting, 8 weeks ago & have lost 29 lbs. I'd like to have some friends who have done it, are doing, whatever! I don't have any "larger" friends really, so I have no one to talk to that knows what I'm going threw, how hard it is, or how frustrating it gets sometimes. So, that's it I guess. Keep losing weight everyone!

Congrats on losing 29lbs! You may want to check out the Calorie Counting area to start, but there are many support areas.

Post anywhere you're comfortable, we all definitely understand being "larger".

OMG, I know how you feel! I just want to be skinny! I'm doing weight watchers online and it is so hard! I am having fantasies about a big plate of spaghetti right now. I brought a frozen diet meal for lunch, but I don't want it. I am really fighting myself now.

I was eating 500-750, but I'm starting to get the point that for so many reasons that is bad. So I'm going to attempt to up that to about 1200. I know it will probably slow it down, but all I'm hearing is horror stories about such a low caloric intake. I think my body has went into "starvation mode" last week I lost 6 lbs and this past week, only 1. :-(

You should never eat less than 1200 calories a day, as you said, you body went into stavation mode, and everytime you eat, it will store food as fat. The healtier way to lose weight is to eat healthy, cut on carbs, eat lots of steamed veggies and fruits, no oil butter and a bit of salt, eat lots of greens with no dressing, fiber (beans, lentils ...), lean protein and fish. I have done that before and lost weight, I am going to start again tomorrow. Keep up the good work and never give up.

Wow, that is really great, 29 lbs. I am new to this and have a lot to lose. I am not sure if I could stick to counting calories, must be hard. I am trying t find a way to change my eating habits, I have already gotten rid of the junk food in my house (no more hidden chips or cookies) But that is just not enough. I am sure I will find something here that I can live with.

Congrats on the 29 pounds, and congrats on realizing that eating 500-750 calories is extremely dangerous. Hope your not doing that kim something diet. I do Atkins and have to make myself eat more. I realized I too was eating only about 800-1000 and now am working up to 1400 or so which has been hard. I have not lost weight in 2 weeks because I think I was in starvation mode as well. Best wishes to you.

A big 3FC

Glad you have increased your calorie intake. There are alot of different diet forums to check out. If this one is working for you then keep it up but there are plenty of other diets that will give you long lasting results.

Don't get discouraged is your weight loss stalls...it happens to everyone.
