Smile Trying to meet goals

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the group. My name is Priss, and I am trying to loose about 30 pounds. I am insulin resistant and it seems that I cannot loose even a pound. I did see my doctor this week and finally I lost about 2 pounds over a period of about 45 days (although it's not but 2 pounds, I was thrilled)!!! If anyone has any helpful thoughts, I am all ears. Thanks in advance.
Priss

Hi! I'm pretty new here too. I think if you go take a look in the Dieting With Obstacles forum you will meet other women who have insulin resistance. I could be wrong...if I am hopefully a senior member will come along and direct you to the correct place.

Anyway...have fun posting! Just hang in there...there's some great advice here.

Welcome to 3FC.

Congratulations on the 2 pounds! It's all the more eventful because it was so difficult.

Take a look around. The South Beach diet may be a plan to investigate and consider. It was designed to improve the health of cardiac and diabetes patients. You mind find another plan that meets your needs better.

Welcome again.

Default Insulin Resistant too

Hello, I am Insulin Resistant too! Saw my endocrinologist last wednesday and he did prescribe Metformin 2000mg daily. I am just beginning and have to start with 500mg and slowly increase the dosage as it causes severe GI issues. He also suggested a diet lower in carbs and of course higher protein and veggies. He did not promote any one in particular however South Beach is very close to what he is wanting me to do. He also wants me to do daily exercise.
Good Luck, in the past it was very difficult for me to lose so I know how you are feeling.

Greetings and Welcome Prissy!!! I hope you find the information you're looking for here. I'm pretty new here as well and I'm still searching the forum. I didn't realize how huge it was. At any rate, I know there is a forum specifically for people with your health issues.

I hope you enjoy your stay!!!
