Red face Hello, Is there anyone out there like me?

Hello My name is Hillarie. I've been here before but fell way off the wagon when life got hard. I am struggling like many others here and looking for guidance and support. I have 2 children Aaron 4 1/2 and Madison 19 months. In Sept. of 07 I had a ruptured eptopic pregnancy that ended with getting my tubes tied. Ever since then I can NOT lose any weight. It's like no matter how vigilant I am to my food journaling and caloric control I can not lose any weight. I have actually gained probably 20 pounds. Which is horrific and I really can't cope with even more extra weight. I really just don't know what to do anymore. Thanks for listening I hope I can get back on track or at least figure out why my body is rebelling so hard to losing this weight.

Hi Hillarie!

Just wanted to welcome you back to the site. Sorry to hear about your ectopic pregnancy and all the things related to that. I know that must've been hard.

Looks like you've made the first step to get back on track. Whatever plan you're on, do it to the fullest. As you know, there are plenty of plans on this site. I'm sure you'll be able to find the support you need.

Good luck to you on your weight loss journey.

Hi Hillarie,
I am sorry to hear about the loss of your pregnancy and your ongoing health problems. Have you talked to your doctor about the twenty pounds that came on that you can't seem to get rid of? Maybe there is something going on hormonally (PCOS, for example).

You sound like a busy Mom! It is hard to have time for yourself when you have small children. I hope you can carve time out of your day to find your center and focus on your goals. Weight loss is so hard, and it takes time and dedication to yourself, but you know that!

Were you planning on having more children? I went through menopause early because I had had a very strong does of chemotherapy. I was not ready to be done with my childbearing years and I had thought I might have one more child. It made me very sad and it took a long time for me to grieve the loss. Perhaps sadness in adding to your struggle with your weight?

You are in my thoughts.

Sheri

Sheri,
Thanks for your kind words. we were tossing around the idea of being done but one more would have been nice too. I feel like the decision was taken away from me in a way. I've secretly hoped that my tubal would fail and I would be blessed with another child, it's happened more then once in my family. But I know that is just wishful thinking. I have thought about going to see the Dr. to see if my hormones were jacked up but I hate going to the Dr. and saying I'm broke fix me. It was bad enough when I had to ask for anti depressants for a while. I'm just struggling more then every other time I've tried to lose weight and I don't know why.

Hey Hillarie -

Sorry to hear about your recent struggles. You're definitely in my thoughts.

You really might want to check in with a doctor. From my perspective, if there is something medically going on with you that affects your weight, not taking care of it only hurts you in your efforts. Your doctor might have advice for you, also, about your weight loss, or be able to provide you with resources you can go to. So I'd really encourage it! Why make things harder than they have to be by possibly ignoring a medical issue?

Otherwise, look around, settle in, and keep posting. Can't wait to hear more from you soon!
