Determined new chick
Hello all,
This looks like a most lovely forum and the place to be for inspiration and kind support!
I am 37 and like many others, am about to undergo a weight loss journey again. Last time I did Weight Watchers and it was quite successful, but I relaxed and the weight crept back on. This time I have less to lose and more knowledge of how to do it, and I don't want to lose as much weight as I did last time. I want to retain my natural curves (I like a slightly rounded tummy!) but get and stay fit and within my healthy weight range.
I do have two gorgeous, stylish, intelligent female friends who are also undertaking their own journey and are super-supportive, as well as a very sweet husband who actually recommended this site!
This time there are two big differences. Firstly I am not telling my wider circle of friends and family: last time I made it public and copped a certain amount of sabotage and competitive criticism, sad to say. This time I'm keeping it to myself, my husband and my dear friends. Secondly, I recently became aware of some emotional family issues that have probably contributed to my determination to sabotage my own health: not least being a sister who has struggled with anorexia for many many years. Time to get over this!
One last big difference: this time I fully intend to enjoy the journey! No more self-hatred, just positive reinforcement and good fun. This looks like the right place to be for that!
