New to the site, just wanted to say hi :)
Hello all!!!
I don't know how much info is too much info so I'll try to keep this super short with as much info as possible? That sounds silly...
I'm 19 and I just finished my first year in university and noticed that for the past year I've really been packing on the pounds, but even before that I've had issues with eating and my weight. When I first entered high school I was anorexic for two years and went from around 185 straight down to 140 and then eventually stabilized around 150-155 for a year. I found out I was anemic and so had to start eating more red meat and spinach (much to my dismay) and taking iron supplements. This made me shoot up to 165 in no time. I still looked okay but felt bloated all the time. In my last year of high school I went up to 175 and decided it was time to start exercising because I had already rekindled my love affair with food and was by no means giving it up again. However, exercise didn't fit in too well with my life seeing as most of my free time was spent cooking and baking (I looooove to prepare food) and by the time I knew it, I didn't have any time to go running or exercise because it was time for bed!!
Anyway, mid-first year in university and I finally got back up on the scale after not having been on it in months and WOW was I in for a surprise. 184!! The same weight as my 3 inches taller boyfriend!! I felt so ashamed. So I started cutting back on the sweets and cutting back on eating out and I lost about 5 pounds. I was at a steady 177 up until probably recently because I stepped back up on the scale again yesterday and it read 192.
I had finally had enough of this ridiculous, constant weight gain and then I found 3FC so here I am!!
I don't know much about dieting at all or the right kind of foods to eat in order to lose weight and such, all I keep hearing is low carbs! low fat! but really, how long can a person take without a warm, soft piece of bread?
I think I've rambled on enough!!! Hello all!! It's nice to meet whoever is stumbling across this and I hope to have as much success as some of you out there. I'm inspired to jump out of bed and go for a quick walk already haha! I was wondering if anybody could help me out on where I should start? I don't know much about dieting or exercising (i.e. what kinds of exercises to do, when, how long, etc). Any recommendations?
