New and feel lost! :(

  • Hi! I am new here. I am 33 years old need to lose 50 pounds. I have been sucessful losing weight in the past, but not sucessful changing my life, so I have yo-yo'd for the past ten years. I want to be done with that! I have two kids, a three year old boy and an eleven year old girl and want to be a good example to them. Last time I lost weight my husband dieted with me. He lost 30 pounds and I lost 10, but then he reached his goal, so I fell off the wagon, so to speak. I don't mind exercising, but have a real weakness for food. It is amazing the kind of power food has over me. Well I am ready to start and really want to change my life this time!

  • Welcome! You've definitely come to the right place and for the right reasons. Take it one day at a time and soon enough, healthy eating will become part of your life style. Pick a program that you can do for life. I'm also a yo-yoer and I hate it. I'm hoping this is it for me, but I'm a food addict and can't take that lightly because it feels like a real addiction that I will have to monitor for the rest of my life. I'm sure your family will appreciate all the healthy food at home too. Good luck and see you around the board!
