I'm Emily. I've been reading for several hours and I am feeling even more motivated. I have been unhappy with my weight for a long time but I also felt completely unmotivated to do anything about it until recently. Several things brought that about but mainly it was the complete shock of actually weighing myself and seeing just how much I have gained.

I quit smoking (without even trying oddly enough) a few months ago and I think that may have contributed a lot to the last 15 lbs or so. At any rate- I NEED to be here! I started the South Beach Diet yesterday but I am about to lose my Y membership so I also need to figure out an exercise plan that will work for me.
