I'm trying this introduction for the second time. My first got lost in cyberspace.
I'm a 51 year old woman and mother of a wonderful 8 year old son. My husband has older kids so I'm also a grandmother of a dear 6 month old - and you can't beat that!
I've always weighted just a bit more than I wanted to. Till I hit infertility and the scale crept up some more. Then with my son it went up another notch. 5"5' and 162 seemed to be where I was living. Some work setbacks left me thinking "I'm going to take control of what I can take control of, and that is my food and weight". Fortunately I found the BDS book and I'm feeling very good late in week 3, about 4 pounds lighter.
I've long excercised 3-4 times a week (20 mins elyptical trainer) but have cranked that up to (try for) 5 times and 45 minutes. I walk a lot, especially in warm weather.
This week I'm on a family church "camp" which is loads of fun, lots of walking and pretty good salads. Hope I can hold out through the carnival and sundae party tomorrow.
