I used to visit 3 Fat Chicks on a Diet wayyyyy back...the site looks much different now. Wish i had stuck with it wayyyyy back because i would probably be in much better shape today.
52 years old, weight just keeps adding on. A few years ago i lost 30 lbs by making wise choices and exercising..gave all my larger sizes to Goodwill, confident that would prevent me from gaining back the weight. Boy, that was a dumb call.
The weight, plus some, is all back. Nothing to wear. School begins in 2 weeks (school media specialist). Arthritis in both knees. In fact, one is due for replacement as soon as i contact the surgeon, but i really want this weight off before surgery.
anyhow...looking forward to meeting you (and yes, want my 30 posts in so i can get that ticker-counter thingy). I truly believe 99% of weight loss is in my mindset, and I am ready.
Welcome Ohyes!
Try not to think of things as "shoulda, coulda, woulda," because that won't help you reach your goal...or at least it will make the journey a lot more painful. Treat yourself with kindness. You've been through a lot and you've used food to help you through it...now, use food to help you heal. Use your experience for your benefit and use your smarts and wit to help you navigate through this wonderful community. I KNOW I wouldn't have done so much had it not been for this board. I highly recommend finding subgroups that you identify with or that you think you need extra help with. Also, find a program to do. I, personally, love calorie counting. I never thought I would, but it makes me feel like I'm in total control. It's not for everyone, but I like it so much that I wanted to share that with you. Anyway, I'm so glad you found this place and I hope you will find it as inspirational and supportive as I.
