Default Newbie from Canada

Hi all,
I'm Di from Ontario, Canada. I'm a 34 year old, married, mother of two wonderful girls. I have spent the last 10 years or more diving into diet after diet and gaining back more weight than I started with. I'm tired of being tired and I'm tired of being fat and most of all I'm tired of constantly complaining about it. LOL I've spent a lot of money on weight loss programs and I don't want to spend thousands more dollars getting healthy. I just want to focus and get it done. I am now at the point where I'm starting from scratch and am interested in hearing advice and wonderful success stories from others.
I look forward to chatting with you all.

Welcome!!!

I don't know if this will help you or not, but what works for me is telling myself that it's not a "diet". It's the healthy lifestyle everyone should be living, but doesn't! Today's society makes it so hard to make healthy choices! But if you just think that you are going to change the way that you eat and think about food, it might be easier...although this is coming from someone who has only been doing it for about a week!! I did it before, though, and lost over 20 lbs. Hope that helps!!!

to 3fc I joined 3fc last year and I have found it invaluable on my weight loss journey. Never before have I been this successful for the first time I do not think as myself on a diet but a healthy eating plan that I can live with for life. Oh it does not mean that once in a while I do not go out and have a lovely meal with all those foods I do not normally touch.

When I changed my eating habits I decided the food I ate day in and day out had to be what I could live with for the rest of my life. With the aid of this site I have had plenty of variety to my meals with all the different recipes I have tried. My DH reckons he is a guinea pig due to all the testing of different recipes I try out on him.

Good luck with your weight loss journey and reaching goals along the way.

Hi Di, and welcome aboard!

I'm Amanda from the Ottawa area. Always nice to have another Canadian around! I just joined as well and am finally feeling motivated to do this the right way. So far, so good. I hope you'll enjoy this place as much as I do!
