I've been coming to this website for awhile now and finally decided to join today.
I'm 17, 5'2", 164 pounds and I'm in need of change.... Here's a short history of my struggle with weight loss.
On July 6, 2006 when I was 15 years old, I went to an LA Weight Loss Center for a consultation. I weighed in at 189.4 pounds and was told that the program would cost me close to $1,000. With insurance not footing the bill, I was left without the program and feeling down. I Ignored my problem by turning to food and avoiding scales.
Then, in the spring of 2007 (probably around March), I woke up and was done sulking! I decided in about five minutes that I was going on a diet that day and that I would forever be rid of the body I loathed so much. From March of '07 to July of '07 I successfully lost 35.5 pounds. The last day of my diet I had reached my first mini-goal of 155 pounds. I was ecstatic. However, instead of taking a day off of my diet, I've taken the last year off. I've gained 10 pounds and have had no motivation to do anything about my last 30 (now 40) pounds that I want lose. Until today. Today I woke up with that same feeling I had almost a year and half ago. This time, however, I want to stick with it until the end.
I've come to this forum because I've seen how helpful all of you have been to one another and I would love to be apart of such an amazing community!
