Smile My Weight Loss Story

I am new here...great site by the way for all us chubbies. I started my crusade in October 2007 when i went to the doctor for a bladder infection and i weighed 216lbs...i was shocked. When i went back for my 2 week check up i was down to 206...really without trying other than skipping my 11:00pm waffle with butter and jam. Then by Thanksgiving i went just under the big 200lb mark! yeah. well over Christmas i put some back, and then on January 1st i started my real push to get this fat off my body for good! I started walking 5 nights a week. slow at first and just about a 1/2 mile and just made some minor cut backs on my eating. On April 1st was just only down to about 195 and started really looking at the shape of my body. I have huge boobs 47 inches, thick waist 41 inches and thin hips, 43 inches, thighs were at about 26 inches. I would look in the mirror with disgust. I had no waist at all, no butt, thin thighs and monster boobs with alot of back fat. I was shaped like an alcoholic man So I stopped sugar and bread and added some yoga and pilates to my fitness plan. May 1st down to 190. Then i went on the Rotation diet. 600 calories a day for 3 days, 900 calories a day for 4 days and 1200 calories a day for one week. Then i rotated back to the 600, 900 week. Then yesterday, i went to the Doctor for a blood pressure check and weighed 185 on his scale and my blood pressure was way way down so he cut my dose in half! So now I have some mini goals through the summer. My birthday is June 10th and hope to be at 175 and then to 145 by the end of the year. I'm sure I will have my bad weeks and maybe reach some plateaus....but i am determined. I believe you really have to WANT it bad. I drink lots and lots of water. Only about 4 ounces of OJ a few times a week. NO ALCOHOL, NO BREAD and no sugars. I know our bodies will get used to what ever eating plan we go on and eventually say "im gonna hold on the this weight" So my modo is to change it up all of the time. Switch diets, change up the excersise....but always drink water. Good luck to all of you. I look forward to reading everyones success stories.

Sounds like you're making really good progress. Big congrats on lowering your BP and getting to cut your meds in half. Sounds like you have a good sense of how to keep yourself losing by switching approaches. Similar to what we're encouraged to do with exercise. Well continued good luck to you.
