Yep, I'm new!

  • I am really set on losing weight this time. Unfortunity I am alone. My husband is very lean and thin (never diets or works out). He always shows me lots of support but he had no idea what it's like. I don't have anyone to lean on while I am going through this so I thought maybe joining will help me lose weight for real this time and keep it off! I have browsed through several threads and I can see that the support here is amazing and I think finally I have found a place that I fit in! So I am very excited!
Oh, I started counting calories on January 22nd and I have lost 15lbs so far.
  • Welcome!
It's not easy trying to lose with a slim partner. My husband is always trying to lose 10 pounds, and I just think, "I WISH!"
Please post wherever you feel comfortable... there's lots of great support to be had here.
  • Well, Chickie, you will receive lots of support around here . . . and boy, do we understand.
  • Welcome!!
  • areogora!

I sooo completely understand about being determined to succeed this time. I also have a husband who does not need to lose weight and has never been overweight... great genetics in his family . Most unfortunately for me my husband prefers me to be a little "womanly" as he calls it. I keep reminding him I need to loose the extra weight for my health and he tries to be understanding. He does not sabotage me very much but truly doesn't understand how difficult weight loss can be.

You are correct about the support here on this site! I have found it to be awesome!! I work a crazy night schedule and am doing WW (weight watchers) online. I can't tell you how much help I've received in the short time I've been coming here.

on your weight loss so far! Choose every day to remain determined and I am certain you will succeed!!
  • welcome! and congratulations on your loss so far. My hubby tends to be lean too, and he knows how I love chocolate, so sometimes he gets me wonderful presents that I would rather not have around the house! It does help to have the chicks to talk to, though -- keep us posted on how you're doing.
