Hello Lotus,
Welcome! I'm new too. It's great there's a place we can chat about weight and gain support from others. I know a lot of people are emotional eaters, for whatever reasons. I also have a great husband and a career that I love (although I'm a Realtor, and it's terribly slow right now!) But for me, I honestly think the overeating I've done in the past is simply because "I enjoy good food!" Of course it doesn't help when my DH sits down beside me, bless his heart, :hug: with a plateful of forbidden food! The other thing I found (at least for me) is that simple carbs mess with my blood sugar levels, triggering me to want more carbs, and the cycle goes on and on. For me, forcing myself to stay away from these simple carbs has helped reduce those cravings. But everyone is different, which is so great about this site because we can pick and choose a plan that works for us. You'll find something that clicks with you, and you'll do great! I too am an emotional eater. I think you're doing great just by coming to this site. My motivation is seeing all the success stories here. It is a fabulous community. For me this site also means accountability. I am trying to be a success story myself. Keep posting and good luck!
