Hi all. Newbie here. My username is seekingme, (profound huh?) but I can be called Shane. Just wanted to introduce myself and say that I really like the site so far. I'm really hoping it will help me. Anyone else here from indiana?

Hey Shane -

Glad you've found us! I'm pretty sure we have other members from Indiana here, and I'm sure they'll be popping in shortly.

In the meanwhile, what sort of plan are you following? Whatever it is, we probably have a forum for it...so settle in and look around! Find a spot or two to post in and jump right in.

Can't wait to get to know you better.

Nice to meet you. Thanks for repsonding.
Well, right now I'm not following any. I've far surpassed the desperation point and decided to wipe the slate clean and start again. I'm not sure how to go about starting over again though...

Hi Shane &

If you'd like, have a look around the Diet Central area for food plan ideas. Many people start slow by changing the smallest of things in order to reach their goals. Maybe just by drinking all their water today, or taking a walk for just 10 minutes.

Small things will add up. You don't have to change everything right this moment

Best of success & keep on posting!

Thanks for the ideas and support Faerie. The last time I was this weight I had to work out 2hrs every day, six days a week for 2 yrs, and eat around 700 cals a day. I can't do that again. I have numerous health issues and my body just won't let me...
I am trying to start a little at a time so I succeed this time. It is daunting though.

Oh my... that was a lot (not to mention a little unhealthy). We have to find something that we can work with for the long haul.

If we do it slowly, and we do it right, then we won't have to do it again! That, after all, is the most important part, right?

Unhappy

It was a lot and very unhealthy, but my body simply would not do it any other way. I had a thyroidectomy when I was 13 and firmly believe that not having 90% of my thyroid has something to do with it, but the doctors say no. Anyway, I can't do it that way now. Not with arthritis at the forefront of my health issues. You can see why I'm desperate and depressed. I know what it took before and I know I can't do that now...
