New to this Forum--Looking for Support with Low Carb diet ideas

  • Hi Everyone! I'm new here and looking for support. I just wanted to take a few quick minutes to introduce myself. My name is Danielle and I am 34. I am originally from Southern California; however, I am forever stuck in Central Illinois. I am married and have three children (1 daughter & 2 nieces - all girls, 11, 17, 18)

I never really had a problem with my weight as a child through my twenties. Four years ago, my sister passed away and her children came to live with me. At this point in my life, I began to overindulge in food for comfort. I bought so much junk food for nieces thinking they needed this comfort also!!! However, they were not junk food eaters and I ate everything. My weight was 127 and today I weigh 192. I have tried a few diets, but I have had a hard time sticking to one. Last year, I lost 17 pounds on low carbs / Atkins. If anyone has any suggestions, recipes, success stories with similar diet please let me know. I need all the help and support.

    Height - 5'8"
    Current Weight- 192
    Goal Weight-140

  • Hi &

    Best of success to you!
  • Danielle, welcome to the forum!
I'm so sorry about your sister. Most of us would have done the same thing... dug into the comfort foods.
Have you thought about South Beach? It's lower carb, and many people have had success with it.
