Newby in the House!!!

  • Hello! My name is Missy and I am from Denver, CO. I have recently hit rock bottom with my weight at 230lbs. I am taking control, have joined Curves (Is anyone out the doing curves? how do you like it?) and have been eating well. My first goal weight is 210, wow I never imagined having to have a goal weight that high, but it is the situation I have gotten myself into. My ultimate goal is 150- wow that is going to be great! I have gained nearly 30lbs since november of 2006-yikes bikes! And really do not know why. So this is it friends, I am making positive contributions to my daily habit to change this and hopefully lose that 30 by the time I graduate in June. Any advice or encouragement would be awesome. I have been keeping a journal to help me motivateed and so far, everything is going well- I am still in the honeymoon stage, and anyone who has tried losing wieght knows how much fun it is until you hit your first major hump. Well I am looking forward to reading and sharing stories with all of you and look forward to helping you all along as well! I look forward to hearing from you!

  • i am also fairly new here, and i love it.its good to be around so may supportive ppl. I graduate nxt yr, and one of the reasons i wanna lose weight is too look good in my cap and gown : ) weird, right? i also keep a personal diet journal, with my general up and downs on my journey, and i think it helps. it gets all the frustrations out, and it records my more happy moments. Good Luck!!
  • thanks! not wierd. I want to look great in my cap and gown as well! How is it going for you so far? Doesnt the journal help out so much!
  • well i've lost about 35 pounds so far. holidays killed me, but thank god i didnt gain more than 3 pounds .
the journal is excellent. and posting on forums is helpful too.I didnt even use to post on forums, but ppl are so damn nice
r u on a specific diet?? im a calorie-counter, but no specific diet yet.
  • no specific diet. I really try to watch eating carbs and keeping mainly to fresh fruits and veggies. I am working on the curves program. I was doing really well before the holidays and then I just did awful so now i am in the position I am in. Congrats on your loss that is great!
  • thanks. yah, im guessing a lot of ppl messed up during holidays. curves is like a gym for women and weigh -ins?? cant remember. if it is a gym thats awesome. I joined 24 hour at the end of summer last yr, and i love it. i was so nervous when i first went(i felt like a dork), but i really like it now.
