newbie!

hi, i found this site a couple of days ago. i like the concept of it. i never thought there was a such thing as a weight loss support community online. what a great idea.
well my story is that i had a baby 6 months ago and gained 80 pounds during the pregnancy. the first 60 pounds came off very quickly and very easily. but these last 20 pounds aren't as easy. i am currently deployed in afghanistan at the moment and i really want to lose that last 20 pounds while i am here so i can step off that plane with a smoking hot body. thats my plan.
my problem is that i don't have to drive to work out. i need some encouragement to do it. and i was hoping i could get some help from you guys. my other problem is that i don't like working out because i feel like people are staring at me and thinking "what is she doing!?". i have lost all of my self-confidence and i don't know what to do. please i need some encouragement!

i can't wait to get started and meet you guys!

Hi there!!! :wel3fc:

We're all about the support here ^^ Have a look around & post in areas that you're comfortable.

Working out is a very important part of staying healthy. I'd say that first you have to find something that you might actually enjoy. Next, we have to realize that most people who are working out are only paying attention to what they're doing, not what other people are doing. In fact, that's true with most of our day to day lives. You can do this! You may just have to force yourself in the beginning and just get going :)

Best of luck!!!

Hi and welcome!

My tip is about working out. A bunch of us love this gal http://www.stumptuous.com/cms/displaysection.php?sid=3
she has work outs for people with home gyms, people with some equipment, people with no equipment.

Many people don't go to a gym for various reasons. You don't have to if you feel that you're not ready to be out where people look at you.

Welcome to the forum! :welcome3:
I hear you re: people staring. I was petrified when we joined the Y about seven years ago. But once I started going regularly, I realized that no one was looking at me... they were focusing on themselves, and that's what I needed to do.
Hang in there.
