Smile Hi - I am doing Weight Watchers and I am brand new to 3FC!

Hi Everyone!

My name is Eliina and I am 22 - I lost 30 pounds a while back but then my mom went into the hospital last year and I gained it all back (She passed away in July at 60) I am doing better with my eating - and I am vegetarian-- but I am having a VERY tough time with motivation in regards to exercise...I am still dealing with depression and would rather just stay in bed all day! I am getting ready to go to school right now - but if it wasn't for that I wouldn't even be going out of the house...I am 218 right now - as of my 2nd weigh in...I go in again on Friday and want to behave this week....sometimes I sabotage myself...well, most of the time...I am just getting used to how things work on here...any tips would be great!

Hey Eliina, and So sorry to hear that you lost your mother - I can't imagine how hard that would be.

A couple of areas here might be really great for you.

First, our Weight Watchers forum...we have groups on Flex or Core, as well as chat and discussion threads and recipes. This is a great spot for support and ideas!

Second, you might want to check out our Vegetarian Chicks forum...also great for healthy, vegetarian recipe ideas.

Third, you may want to head over to the Depression and Weight Issues forum - a great spot for discussing the special issues that depression brings to the table when it comes to weight maintenance.

You could also visit the 20-somethings to chat with folks in your age group.

Wherever you post, in one spot or all of the above, just jump in and keep posting. Can't wait to get to know you better.

Hey I'm Kerry. I am new to 3fat chicks too. I just started ww last week. I lost my dad in october so I know how hard it is to think about yourself right now. I am older than you but the similarties between us are close. I had just started losing weight and he died. I had hard time doing anything especially watching what I was eating. Now I am back at the gym in a competition and doing ww. Keep going you can do it.

Eliina, welcome to the forum.
I'm so sorry about your mom. Don't be too hard on yourself... you're going through a rough time. Just start small and do what you can to get you through the day. We're all here when you need us, hon.

Kerry, welcome to you, too!
And I'm sorry about your dad.
I lost my dad three years ago, and it feels like yesterday. I'm only just starting to get some of the weight off that I put on when he was ill.
Congratulations on getting back to the gym!

I hope you'll both keep posting.

I went to school here and just could never leave! It's such a cute little town. Santa Cruz is beautiful, though...I've been a few times and always have such a great time.

*On a separate note*

I have lost a total of 9.2 pounds in two weeks! My first WI i lost 6lbs and my 2nd WI I lost 3.2lbs -- So I am feeling happy about that and want to keep working at it!!

Hey! Welcome fellow newbie! We seem to have the motivation and excercise killer gene. My grandmother is terminal at this point so i understand to a certain extent what you're going through and it is no fun. But hey we'll lick this challenge and look gorgeous!
