Unhappy Im new and really need this!

My name is Kylee and I am 19 years old. I have been overweight for so long now. And i've recently gotten to the point of being obese. I am 5'10 and I weight about 227lbs. I did the 'low-carb' diet for about two years and lost about 60lbs and was happy and skinny! Then I stopped dieting and gained it all back (plus more!).

Right now I am just not happy physically. I am so emotionally happy. I have a boyfriend that loves me for who I am and tells me Im beautiful everyday, I just want to be able to believe him when he tells me that. He is a lot shorter than me and weights about 160. So, it makes me feel so sick knowing that he is smaller and skinnier than me.

I am embarassed about my weight and I have never told anyone how much I weigh. When I went to the doctors for the flu I told them I weighed 227 and the girl didnt believe me and wrote down 180. It felt so wierd, and I know I want to lose the weight again.

Tonight I was looking through old pictures and I saw the ones where I was fat and the ones where I was skinny. And I looked so happy in the skinny ones! I had nice hips and a nice smile! I just want to get back there.

So, I hope this works because I really realy want this. I am so sick of waking up every morning just thinking about my weight and what I can wear to be comfortable and least noticeable in. I hide from everything. Put a coat/purse/pillow/blanket over my stomach, hoping it will not be seen. But I know it always is. My major problem is eatting when im not hungry. I would say that about 90% of the time that I eat, im not hungry at all. I just say I am.

So, I am looking for some support and hopefully by this time next year I can look back and have a new perspective on life! I need a diet buddy so badly! Any takers???

Thank you so much. I think this is going to work this time!

Welcome, kylee! I know I keep saying it, but you're really really gonna like it here. The girls are so wonderfully supportive and there's a plethora of knowledge and experience! I'm always up for a buddy! You're such a cutie pie and a great energy! Ok yeah, so I've had a glass or two of wine. Sue me. I've got extra WW points to spare. lol

haha.
A glass of wine (or two) sounds like a lot of fun! And you can always just work it off in the morning! I think you have to treat yourself every now and then to be proud of what you've already accomplished! (Maybe thats my downfall?? haha)

Ugh. I totally forgot about the whole 'alcohol is bad for diets thing.' Last time I was serious about dieting I was only 17 and didnt have the college life as a bad influence!

Hey Kylee, and

You might want to check out the 20-somethings forum...you're a teensy bit under 20, but the crowd there has lots of college students and others in the same stage of life as you that you can chat with.

Are you planning on following a low-carb plan this time around? We have a Low Carb Lifestyle forum...or other forums for other plans...so just look around and settle in where you see fit.

Wherever you decide to post, keep posting! Can't wait to get to know you better!

Welcome Kylee!

Look around and find a group to join for support. Most people post all over the place in the beginning and then settle in to a few spots, so feel free to jump in anywhere!

We have low-carb, atkins, and other diet support groups if you want to choose a particular path.

One thing they will all tell you is pick something you can stick with forever.

Good luck and welcome!

Indeedy, though what I like about the WW flex program is that I can work out during the week, save up my exercise points and indulge in some wine on the weekends if I'd like. Personally, for me I love the WW program for it's flexibility. Find what works best for you though. I hope to see you around!

Welcome Kylee!!! It's great you have a supportive boyfriend and he's right, you are a beautiful girl. I have battled with my weight my entire life and it's taken me until now to realize my weight does not define who I am, so don't let it define who you are. =0)

You CAN and WILL do this!
