Default Hi Everyone-Newbie here

Hi everyone,
I am new to 3FC. Here is a little about myself. I live in Jacksonville, FL. I am a native FLORIDIAN. I turned 40 last June (2007). I have struggled with being overweight since I was 13. You name a diet and I have probably tried it. Phen-Fe lost 75+ pounds, LA Weight Loss 50 lbs. Gained it all back and then some. I am not considering the LAP BAND. I have not made a decision yet I feel like I need to do this on my own. I am just tired of winning the small battles. I am ready to win the WHOLE WAR!!!. I used to be a power walker and just this week have started back. I am even considering a 5K fun walk/run in March. I am not sure which thread I need to be in so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am not really following any specific diet at this time just trying to watch my carbs and sugars and get moving (per my doctors suggestion). I am at the end of this!!! I had a major heart scare in December they thought I had a heart attack. I have a 7 year son and the look on his face when he thought I was really sick was not worth putting his emotions thru it. I love him and my family so much. Please don't think that I am doing it just for them only cause most of all I am doing it for me!! I was recently diagnosed with High Blood Pressure and I am pre-diabetic.
I am so excited about having support and being able to support others in this journey.

Hey Ilovetink -

You have so many motivations to make some lifestyle changes...everything from your health to your son. The key is to stop thinking about "diets"...you can go on and off a diet, no problem. Making small changes for LIFE is the key to successful, permanent weight loss, so your doctor's advice was great!

Have you found our 100 lb club or 300 + Club forums yet? They might be great places for you to jump in and start posting, as starting at a high weight poses its own challenges.

Wherever you post, stick around here and keep going. Can't wait to hear more from you soon!
