Default Howdy

Hey guys! I'm new here and just wanted to post a little about me-

I'm a 23 year old gal in NC. I've always been a little bigger than average- whether that's taller, chunkier or both, as long as I can remember. I'm a confident person by nature, but not when it comes to my body- I love to swim, but I'm SO self conscious in a bathing suit that I haven't been in literally over 7 years. It mostly comes from my spare tire and chunky thighs.

Right now, I'm hoping to lose about 22lbs. Then, I want to look at where I am and decide if I want to go lower or not. Somehow, I don't think I'm meant to be tiny .

My weakness is bread and salty treats. I don't overdose on Coca Cola, chocolate is a rare thing- but give me a nice loaf of bread and I'll go to town!

I hate exercise- it doesn't help that I was in a wreck in HS that left my knee pitiful and it can be painful to run or do things like that, but honestly, it's mostly because I'm lazy and exercise requires me to get up and move. I'm trying to be better about that, I REALLY am!

Anyway, sorry to write a novel, I look forward to getting to know you guys .

-Kristen

Hey Kristen! That isn't a novel, trust me! We're glad to know about your history and get to know you better!

I am a reformed bread addict myself...key, for me, was not forbidding myself to have it sometimes. I'll often get a big dinner salad with chicken, and get a roll to go alongside...as long as I buy just one roll at a time, it lets me control my portion and STILL eat my bread.

I definitely understand knee issues - had surgery in Sept of last year - but you know what? You can work around them. You knew that, though. Once you make a commitment to doing it, you'll just...do it. And if you keep doing it, soon it'll be habit, and doing it won't be so hard anymore.

Can't wait to see you around...keep posting here!

Thanks for the welcome! I'm excited to be here and to get my butt off the couch (where it is now, but ignore that for a minute ) and drop some weight!

Kristen,
I totally understand the bathing suit thing! I can't remember the last time I wore one in public (without a coverup!), and that's a goal of mine for this summer... to wear one with confidence, even if I don't have the best body at the pool!
