Unhappy Hi everyone, binge eater needs support

Hi everyone,
I have never posted on a forum before and welcome any pointers. I have yo-yo dieted since I was 14, I am 48 now. I have gained about 30 pounds in the last year and 50 in the last 2 years. I have always considered myself a diet expert but the reality is that I only know how to starve myself or binge. I would like to find a happy medium. Last night I ate up and then threw all of the junk food out of the house this morning. This is a ritual for me lately and usually I end up buying more junk, ice cream and cakes, cookies , pastries, etc., by late afternoon. I just cannot go it alone anymore so that is why I have decided to reach out to others via this website. I'll keep reading the forums here and hope to hear from someone soon. Thanks, Colleen

Hi there Colleen, and !

I, too, used to practice many eating disordered rituals in order to stay thin. After I stopped the starvation-related practices, I developed binge eating disorder because I had supposedly resolved my "skinny" issues and decided to stuff my face because I "could".

eating disorders are difficult to overcome, but not impossible. You should check out the Chicks in Control forum (click the name to visit) - you will get a lot of support regarding binge eating and you will meet some other people who are going through exactly what you are

Hey Colleen, and

Yes, please do visit the "Chicks in Control" forum - it is so helpful to discuss binge eating issues...bringing them out in the open can help you address them and, ultimately, work toward resolving them.

Can't wait to hear more from you soon! Keep posting!
